Taken in Dec 2016 at the Audubon Center at Riverlands in West Alton, MO.

The trumpeter swans are migrating through and I caught sight of this banded bird while visiting the Riverlands. The band reads 840 84U and reporting information such as this allows scientists to study the birds and their migration patterns/habits. The letter "U" on the band indicates that the bird was banded in Wisconsin.
