The slight crimp in the leaves forming the heart here represent the times our heart has been bruised but can still be whole. I love the soft pink of the tulip and the imperfections on the petals are symbolic, too. Love isn't perfect.

Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world. Her photos have been described as having an “eclectic mixture of soft, near watercolor effects on florals – almost Japanese in delicacy and Zen-like in simplicity – contrasted with the sharp, clean linear architectural images.” With her photography, she seeks out vantage points that others might pass by.
