Hiking in the Maine woods, we connected with the Appalachian Trail to visit Upper Wilson Falls. The stairs you see in this image were part of that connection. The illumination of the woodland staircase was like the universe lighting our way.

Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world. Her photos have been described as having an “eclectic mixture of soft, near watercolor effects on florals – almost Japanese in delicacy and Zen-like in simplicity – contrasted with the sharp, clean linear architectural images.” With her photography, she seeks out vantage points that others might pass by.
