Trumpeter Swans Canvas Print

The trumpeter swans, as well as many other migratory birds, have arrived at the Audubon Center at Riverlands in West Alton, Missouri. The Riverlands is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the fields are periodically flooded - especially to support the migrating waterfowl. One has to get out early to see the swans, though, as they generally leave the water after sunrise to graze in the fields, returning just prior to sunset.

Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world. Her photos have been described as having an “eclectic mixture of soft, near watercolor effects on florals – almost Japanese in delicacy and Zen-like in simplicity – contrasted with the sharp, clean linear architectural images.” With her photography, she seeks out vantage points that others might pass by.
