North of St. Louis, near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, you will find a conservation area known as Columbia Bottom. Within that area, you will then find fourteen different fields of sunflowers. This image was taken in one of the fields that required a short walk from the main road.The warm colors of sunset truly make this image a favorite.

Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world. Her photos have been described as having an “eclectic mixture of soft, near watercolor effects on florals – almost Japanese in delicacy and Zen-like in simplicity – contrasted with the sharp, clean linear architectural images.” With her photography, she seeks out vantage points that others might pass by.
