Artist's Description

I love finding battered old lobster traps on the beach, but I also hate it. I love them as photographic subjects, but I know that a lost trap equals lost money for the lobsterman. (And, I do love lobster...)

This battered trap was found on the shores of Quoddy Head State Park at low tide. Looking at the surrounding terrain, it is easy to see how some of these traps become so battered after breaking free of their lines.

Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world.
