I love photographing the new foals that are with the herds in Missouri. Although the Missouri Wild Horse League doesn't officially name the horses, I often give them names just for my own record keeping. This little filly is the mother of Willow and the sister of Dusty. You can see Dusty's photo "That's a Good One" within the Wild Horses of Missouri collection on my page.
The horses are managed by the Missouri Wild Horse League, which only steps in when the herd exceeds the federally imposed limit of fifty horses. The horses roam public and private land in Shannon County. Some are often seen crossing Highway 19 and Horse Crossing signs exist on a few roads close to their stomping grounds. For more information about the wild horses of Missouri, please contact the Missouri Wild Horse League.
