As I was photographing the dogwood blooms this morning, I looked down and found a few morel mushrooms at my feet. I've not found any in years, so I took it as a sign that I needed to do some food art today. Mushrooms are always fun to photograph because of their textures.

Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world. Her photos have been described as having an “eclectic mixture of soft, near watercolor effects on florals – almost Japanese in delicacy and Zen-like in simplicity – contrasted with the sharp, clean linear architectural images.” With her photography, she seeks out vantage points that others might pass by.
