Description
Ferdinand, a moniker given to the Mandarin duck who mysteriously appeared in a St. Louis area park a few weeks ago, seems to be quite happy in his little pond. He is quite at home with the mallards who are in residence.
No one knows why he is here and he is not banded. His arrival coincided with the arrival of a Mandarin duck in New York's Central Park.

Great shot Holly!
Holly Ross replied:
Thanks, Jeff! Sadly, he's no longer in Missouri. The pond where he was hanging out was drained and made deeper. Construction is on-going and the hope is he and the mallards he is with will return once the pond is finished and refilled.

Holly, congrats on your stunning feature in A Birding Group - Wings. f/l
Holly Ross replied:
Thanks, Cindy! His pond will be drained Monday, so I paid him another visit today. Not sure where he will go, but I am sure the photographers around St. Louis will find him.
