Artist's Description
A photography instructor once told me to avoid shooting white backgrounds and avoid shooting in the direct sunlight at noon. I left that class and thought, why not break the rules and see what happens. This is the resulting image - Queen Anne's lace in a small bottle. Awarded 3rd Place, Black and White Photography, 2016 Jefferson County Photography Club Accepted into the Framations "Beyond the Lens" art exhibit, running through March 9, 2017 at the Framations Art Gallery in St. Charles, MO. About Holly Ross
Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world. Her photos have been described as having an “eclectic mixture of soft, near watercolor effects on florals – almost Japanese in delicacy and Zen-like in simplicity – contrasted with the sharp, clean linear architectural images.” With her photography, she seeks out vantage points that others might pass by.
