About Holly Ross
Self-taught photographer and Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, Holly Ross has explored a wide variety of subjects, but always returns to the more natural elements of our world. Her photos have been described as having an “eclectic mixture of soft, near watercolor effects on florals – almost Japanese in delicacy and Zen-like in simplicity – contrasted with the sharp, clean linear architectural images.” With her photography, she seeks out vantage points that others might pass by. Another client described her work as, “visual poetry… emotions captured in ink and moments caught as if time could be glued to paper.” Holly’s intent is to seek out those more intimate ‘scapes’ and provide just a glimpse into a world, allowing the viewer to place themselves within, and imagine the balance, of the scene. The wild horses of Shannon County have been her area of concentration since first photographing them during a workshop with the Academy of Nature and Wildlife Arts in 2016, and free weekends often find her in the fields, surrounded by the horses. Holly’s photos have received awards through Framations Art Gallery, Manchester’s FOCUS competition, Fine Art America, and the Jefferson County Photography Club, where she is an active member. Additionally, her work has been shown in the SEEN competition in 2016, 2017 and 2018. All images and content contained herein are Copyrighted Holly Ross Photography, LLC, with all rights reserved.
